Book Review: The Academy by T.Z Layton

In “Leo’s Challenge: A Premier League Dream,” Leo K. Doyle, a kid from a small town in Ohio, has managed to safley secure a spot on a Premier League youth squad team. However, he isn’t exactly the star player. In fact, he isn’t even a starter. Playing for the U14 Lewisham Knights, known as the worst team in the league, Leo faces the looming threat of the team being disbanded if they don’t improve.

This poses a significant risk to Leo’s dream of becoming a professional soccer player. On top of this, Leo must also juggle his schoolwork, navigate the challenges of making new friends in a foreign country, and dealing with a coach who appears to dislike him, and endure being away from home for a demanding season in the Youth Premier League.

How did I like this book?
I liked this book a lot as the main character, Leo has to go through struggles and failures just like you experience in real life. I genuinely loved this book and can totally recommend this to young aspiring soccer players.
