Book Review: Across the Desert by Dusti Bowling

Alone in the desert, can you imagine? Jolene the main character has a normal life but longs adventure. This is why Jolene watches her favorite Livestream were a girl called Addie flies in her ultralight plane in the desert. One day as Jolene was watching the LifeStream, Addie crashed and being Addies only follower, Jolene was the only one who saw it all go down!

She panicked and tried to call for help – only no one believed her. Her mom, 911 – no one took her seriously. So Jolene had to take matters into her own hands and embarked on her mission by herself to rescue Addie. On the train towards the desert, Jolene meets a nice girl who helps her on her mission. Of course, the two brave rescuers face many challenges – just think about extreme heat, lack of water, and dangerous animals…. Will Jolene survive, and will they find Addie? Read yourself if you want to find out more! How did I like the Book? I liked the book because it talked about overcoming fears. “Across the desert” is an inspirational and adventurous book. Who is this book for? This book is perfect for middle schoolers 11 years and older. Rating 9/10
