If you are a parent or a cousin or a godmother etc. I can imagine that you are all stressed out at the moment. But maybe I can help if you still need to get a present for your children.

So I chose 6 fiction books (3 English and 3 German books) that your kids might like. I loved all of them very much and yeah, it’s almost Christmas time so here they are:

English:
– “Bad Dad” written David Walliams
– “Spy School goes South” written by Stuart Gibbs
– “Poached” written by Stuart Gibbs

German:
– “Amy und die geheime Bibliothek” von Alan Gratz
– “Die (un)langweiligste Schule der Welt: Zeugnis-Alarm” Sabrina J. Kirschner
– “Der 1000-jährige Junge” von Ross Welford

Let’s start with Bad Dad (David Walliams):
In this book a dad (Gilbert) is forced to work for an evil man who is called Mr. Big. He has two companions – one is called Thumps and the other one is called Fingers. Together they scare the local neighborhood. But what has Frank, Gilbert’s son to do with it? And why is dad not so bad after all? Great exciting book for kids 8 years or older.

Spy School goes South (Stuart Gibbs):
Spy school is a series. In that book once again Ben Ripley, a 13 year old junior agent has a mission to cross the plans of SPYDER. SPYDER is the most evil organisation. Also a great and thrilling book. I would recommend it for kids 9 years and older.

Poached (Stuart Gibbs):
There is a series called funjungle novel and this is one of them. Teddy Fitzroy has to convince everyone that he isn’t the thief of the koala and so he has to find the real thief. Loved every bit of the book and recommend it for kids 8 years and older.

Und hier die deutschen Empfehlungen:

Amy und die geheime Bibliothek (Alan Gratz):
Als Amy eines Tages zur Bibliothek ging fand sie ihr Lieblingsbuch nicht und war entrüstet. Also machte sie sich auf die Suche danach. Dabei fand sie heraus, dass Eltern fasst alle Bücher verbannen. Das kann Amy aber nicht einfach auf sich sitzen lassen. Sie und ihre Freunde wollen sich gegen die Bücherverbannung wehren. Tolles Buch! Finde es super, dass Amy und ihre Freunde um ihre Bücher kämpfen. Empfehle es für Kinder ab 9 Jahren.

Die (un)langweligste Schule der Welt – Zeugnis- Alarm (Sabrina J. Kirschner): 
Die (un)langweiligste Schule der Welt ist eine Serie von mittlerweile 6 Büchern und bis auf den letzten Band, den mir hoffentlich das Christkind bringt, habe ich alle davon gelesen. „Zeugnis-Alarm“ ist der 4. Band. In 24 Stunden bekommt die Klasse von Max Zeugnisse und dazu sehr schlechte. Das müssen sie sofort ändern, aber die Zeit tickt. Vielleicht schaffen sie es, vielleicht auch nicht. Tolle Serie, tolles Buch – geeignet ab 8 Jahre würde ich sagen.

Der 1000-jährige Junge (Ross Welford):
Wie kann Alfie schon so alt sein, aber wie ein Junge aussehen? Nun das geht so: Sein Vater hat seiner Mama ein paar Lebensperlen gegeben.  Mit Hilfe der Perlen wird man (fast) unsterblich. Als Alfies Mutter dennoch stirbt, muss er alleine klar kommen. Gut, dass er Freunde hat, die ihm helfen.
Mochte das Buch sehr, weil es spannend war und die Freunde immer zusammen hielten. Geeignet für Kinder ab 9.
