Hi everyone! The last days have been very packed. My first week of going to my new school in person, getting used to online teaching although sitting in a class room (it does sound strange, doesn’t it???), meeting new class mates and so much more. It was kind of overwhelming and I did not manage to get my head around writing a review. I went through quite some books though and I have a lot to share with you in the next few weeks.
Hope you all enjoyed a nice Halloween with your families. Talk soon!
Yours Oscar
Normally you would think that a time travelling machine was like a really big rocket. But it isn’t. It’s really small. In fact it is a laptop and a tin.

This story is for my favorite teacher. Friday was my last day at my old school and so I wrote a story to thank her for being the worlds best teacher ever. And here it goes:
One morning I woke up and ate my breakfast. We always had our radio on when we ate.

This awesome book is really special to me because a good friend of mine gave it to me. It is his favourite book.
So, what is it all about?
Auggie is new at middle school. Before he was home schooled because he looked like he was in a terrible fire. Which he wasn’t. He was just born that way. He had to take 24 surgeries.
Remember Yawnee Valley? The place where you find More Crows than people? This is the third book of the series “The Terrible Two” or “Miles und Niles” how it is called in German.

Martin und Karli sind beste Freunde. Sie würden gerne zu den FabFive, der coolen Clique um Lukas dazugehören. Aber die finden Martin und Karli gar nicht cool und nennen sie Nerds.

There used to be a free desk in the class room and then Ahmet came.
He was a very serious, shy and quiet guy but Alexa and her friends Josie, Tom and Michael made him feel welcome.

The fluffy, groomed cat Maximilian was used to live in the “most fashionable townhouse in London.” Sitting on a comfortable, red cushion and having only the best of the best food a cat can eat.
I liked the book because it is a book about friendship. Maximilian didn’t give up and although he was sad at the beginning of the story when he lost his home but he was all happy again in the end. What I didn’t like was that Countess Arlington wanted to drown Max. I found that a bit rough and not necessary.
I would recommend the book for kids 8 years and older. It has 196 pages and is not so hard to read. Rating: 8/10
This story I also wrote during my creative writing course last school year. After the feedback from my teacher I revised the story twice and tried to add more details to the characters. Hope you like it.
And here we go…

Ich freue mich immer besonders eine neue Serie zu entdecken. Von den grünen Piraten habe ich gleich 7 Bände gelesen, weil ich die so toll finde. Den ersten möchte ich euch heute vorstellen.
“My parents told me that America would be this amazing place…”. Front desk is a story based on the real life of the author. It deals with immigration, racism, kindness and courage.
